the film narrates the story of a kingdom in spain in the 15th century. omar sherif acts in the role of the prince of the kingdom and sophia loren as a peasant girl.
the film is a typicall fairytail. though the film conveys few messages the film is simply a watchable movie. the prince who was compelled to marry one of the seven princess from seven provinces of spain falls in love with the peasant girl.
when a competition was comducted to choose the princess , the peaasant girl also takes part in it. but she was defeated by another shrewd princess by a trick. later the trick is revealed and the prince marries the peasant girl
